My Dearest Lion,

As I read your words, my heart stirs with both longing and solace, for though the miles between us are many, your love reaches me as if no distance exists at all. Each night, I too feel the ache of your absence, and the cold that settles beside me is a reminder that your warmth is what makes this house a home.

How I dream of the day when my hand will again find yours, and when your embrace will chase away the loneliness that has become my silent companion. Your words are the balm to my soul, soothing the restless nights where I reach for you in the darkness, only to find empty space.

Yet I am comforted by the knowledge that our love defies both time and distance. The light of the candles flickers still, as if they, too, await your return, yearning to cast their glow upon us once more. Until then, I hold fast to the memory of your touch, your breath upon my neck, and the sound of your whispered promises.

Both Thomas and Elisabeth send their love. Elizabeth sends this sketch of her teddy bear as evidence of her enduring affection for her beloved father. My assistance in her efforts becomes less evident by the day as her ability progresses. I am moved to tears as I watch her clumsy hand in all its honesty. Though your merit it immeasurable and your absence justified, you are missed dreadfully.

Rest easy, my Lion, knowing that I am yours, and I shall remain so, even in your absence. My heart belongs only to you, and like the sea embraces the river, I shall welcome you back into my arms when you return. With all my love,
Your Ever Faithful, Phoenix
